In-depth guide

Creating characters

A character in CreateBooksAI is one plain-language description. The engine turns it into two reference images that anchor the same face, hair and proportions on every page, no character sheets to fill in, no photos to upload.

ONE DESCRIPTION

Write it like you’d tell a friend

No prompt engineering. Just say who your hero is, age, hair, eyes, one or two memorable details, and what they wear.

“a six-year-old girl with warm brown skin, curly dark-brown hair in two puff buns, big hazel eyes, wearing a mustard-yellow raincoat open over a white t-shirt with a red strawberry print, blue leggings and red rubber boots”
The whole prompt that created Nora. Distinctive details, the strawberry shirt, give the quality check something concrete to look for later.
TWO REFERENCE IMAGES

Full body, plus a face close-up

From that one description the engine generates two reference images, a full body for proportions and outfit, and a face close-up for identity. Both are sent along with every scene you generate, which is what keeps your hero recognisable from the first page to the last.

Nora's full-body reference imageNora's face close-up reference image
  • Costs 2 credits, one per reference image, and that is all a character ever costs
  • Reused on every page, the references ride along with each scene automatically
  • Checked against the image, the automated quality check compares each finished page to the references before you see it
OUTFITS

New outfit, same kid

Don’t re-describe your character for the bedtime page. One sentence creates an outfit variation derived from the original references, same face, same identity.

“she now wears mint-green pyjamas with small white stars”
That was the entire input for the pyjama version. Read the variations guide
YOUR CAST

Build the whole family

Every character you create sits in your book’s cast, ready to drop into any scene, alone or together. Mom, Dad, the little brother, the cat: each one is a single description, and each one stays consistent across the whole book.

See a full cast at work, five characters over ten pages, prompts included, on the inside a real book page.
