How to Finish Your Book
CreateBooksAI generates your consistent characters and scenes. To create a print-ready book, follow this simple workflow using Canva (free version).
Download Your Images
In the CreateBooksAI Studio, use the 📦 Download All button in your storyboard to download a ZIP file containing all your scene images, numbered in order.
💡 Tip: You can also download individual scenes by clicking the download button on each image.

Open Canva (Free)
Go to canva.com and create a free account if you don't have one. Then create a new design with one of these recommended sizes:
📐 Square Books
8.5 × 8.5 in
Great for children's picture books
📖 Portrait Books
8.5 × 11 in
Standard KDP paperback size
🖼️ Landscape Books
11 × 8.5 in
Wide-format storybooks
💡 Tip: Match your Canva template size to the aspect ratio you chose when creating your book in CreateBooksAI.
Import Your Images
In Canva, go to Uploads in the left sidebar and drag your downloaded images into Canva. Then create one page per scene and drag each image onto its respective page.
- Set each image to fill the entire page (drag corners to edges)
- Add pages in Canva to match your scene count
- Re-order pages by dragging in the page panel

Add Your Text
Click Text in Canva's sidebar and add text boxes over your images. Here are some best practices for children's book text:
- Font size: At least 24pt for readability
- Font style: Use clear, child-friendly fonts (Canva has great free options like "Fredoka One" or "Baloo")
- Placement: Place text at the top or bottom of images, avoiding character faces
- Contrast: Add a semi-transparent background behind text if it's hard to read over the image
- Consistency: Use the same font, size, and color throughout your entire book
Export as PDF
When your book is ready, click Share → Download in Canva and select:
- File type: PDF Print
- Crop marks and bleed: Enable if your images go to the edges
- Quality: Standard (300 DPI recommended for print)
💡 Tip: For Amazon KDP, you'll need a separate cover PDF. Create a new Canva design with KDP's cover template dimensions.
